Job Summary
Responsible for the management of nursing and other patient care services within the Short Term Rehabilitation setting. The unit has 14 Medicare Certified beds. Accountable for delivery of nursing services consistent with Local, Federal and State Regulations as well as GHS standards; customer satisfaction (patient, patient families, physicians, and employees) and financial results within areas of responsibility. Responsible for maintaining proper records for MDS assessments per CMS guidelines to assure high quality outcomes management. Works collaboratively with all GHS clinical services to ensure facillity's involvment and compliance with system-wide clinical practices and education to ensure the best possible outcomes for patient care. Represents nursing to the medical staff and in policy making for the facility. Assures the recruitment, retention, training, and competency of nursing staff and continuing education of all staff that aligns with the changing acuity levels in subacute care. May be designated to act in the absence of the Licensed Administrator.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of employees that may include final budget authority, hire/termination/disciplinary authority, performance appraisal responsibility. Job will be considered a member of the management staff with direct reports..
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree - Nursing
Minimum Experience
3 years - Acute, subacute or STR (short-term rehab) nursing experience; Progressive nursing management experience preferred
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
Specific Acceptable Credentials (if applicable)
Current SC R.N. licensure in good standing - REGISTERED NURSE (Lawson Code NLRN)
In lieu of the Above Minimum Requirements
Other Required Experience
Hospital based Acute Care Management experience - preferred.
