Lead Quality Auditor

SUMMARY
Leads a team of quality auditors and conducts audits on finished goods. Performs diversified inspections including measuring, testing, and visual verification of products and packaging for conformance to specifications. Coordinates with Plant Manager, QA Manager/Director, DC Rework teams and others as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides direction, guidance and training to QA Auditors and temporary service employees while working in the QA area.
Coordinates auditors efforts to provide service and collaboration with DCs internal teams, including receiving, rework and other departments.
Performs independent receiving inspection of products and packaging for conformance to specifications, including calculation of results using formulas and Excel spreadsheets.
Measures, tests and visually verifies labeling and packaging of product for conformance to specifications.
Conducts special audits on specific styles/lots.
Performs testing of incoming finished product.
Operates test equipment including thickness gauges, scales, rulers, etc.
Maintains receiving inspection, work in process and finished product records, procedures and specifications. Reviews lot history folders for final lot release sign off and files them in the appropriate location.
Serves as the site document control and training coordinator including active and dead storage of records and files. Maintains an up to date record with all SOP with current revisions and distributes new revisions copies as needed.
Works according to material specifications and procedures, written and/or verbal instructions.
Prepares and maintains required inspection reports, scrap reports, compliance reports, etc.
Maintains work area and equipment in clean, safe and orderly condition.
Follows established company rules and regulations, safety precautions, and maintains quality standards.
Assists and provides input in writing inspection and test procedures and other documents relevant to incoming/receiving inspection, work in process, finished product and audit plans.
Coordinates internal audit processes and scheduling on a daily and weekly basis.
Communicates audit results with corporate and special audit teams.
Assists in the analysis of internal rejection reports and customer feedback to identify quality and/or process issues.
Performs other duties as needed and directed by leadership.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May lead the day-to-day tasks and provide direction to a team of one or more Quality Auditors.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred but not required.
Previous textile experience strongly preferred, specifically with quality control inspection experience.
Experience using linear measuring devices, dial indicators, tensile testers, weighing scale, stitch counters and yarn testers desirable.
Experience using computer, word processing and spreadsheet (ex. MS Word, MS Excel, etc.).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Ability to work in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in a positive and collaborative way, encouraging partnership and effective relationships.
Ability to maintain fast paced production work and respond to every changing priorities.
Ability to follow simple spoken commands in English.
Ability to read and understand procedures, specifications and diagrams.
Ability to perform basic math functions, use conversion charts factors, mathematical formulas and understand basic statistics and procedures for significant digits.

Requires the ability to frequently stand for a full shift, approximately 8-9 hours per day, 10-12 hours per day during peak season. Requires the ability to move boxes of socks either by carrying or use of a lifting/assistive device. Requires the ability to frequently work at waist height handling socks, inspecting for quality defects. Requires 20/20 eyesight (can be corrected with utilization of eye glasses).
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment with temperature fluctuations based on the season.
Occasional: activity exists less than 1/3 of the time.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
